ABOUT THE OFFICE
What does the Post 2 At-Large Office do?
The Post 2 At-Large Office is part of Atlanta’s legislative body, which is responsible for creating ordinances and resolutions that shape local governance. The office represents the interests of the entire City of Atlanta and addresses issues from a city-wide perspective. Councilmember Westmoreland authors legislation and brings attention to issues that impact all residents of the City of Atlanta.
Unlike district representatives, who advocate for the needs of a specific area, an at-large representative is responsible for addressing issues that affect the city as a whole. This broader perspective enables the Post 2 At-Large Representative to focus on policies and initiatives that promote equity, economic development, public safety, infrastructure, and quality of life for all residents.
