There are many organizations throughout the city that provide services and assistance to City of Atlanta residents. Our office has compiled a list of a few resources:

HOMEOWNERSHIP SUPPORT

Programs that help homeowners with repairs, renovations, or down payment assistance and legal support:

RENT & UTILITY SUPPORT

Programs that help with past-due rent, utilities, and bills:​

  • Mayor Dickens’ Housing Help Center – Offers case management and referrals to 200+ housing and rental assistance programs. Call 404-465-1829 or visit housinghelpcenter.com.

  • Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) – Provides federally funded assistance in managing costs associated with home energy bills, energy crises, and weatherization and energy-related minor home repair.

  • Lifeline Support – Federal program that lowers the monthly cost of phone and internet service for qualifying households.

  • Care and Conserve - The City offers financial assistance to low to moderate income ratepayers who are having difficulty paying water and sewer bills.

HOUSING SUPPORT

Programs and organizations that help people in crisis connect to housing stability and support:

  • Intown Collaborative Ministries – Provides housing assistance, food, and services to families and individuals regaining stability.

  • Feet of Clay – Supports survivors of domestic violence in finding housing and rebuilding their lives.

  • Policing Alternatives & Diversion (PAD) – Works to reduce arrest and incarceration of people experiencing extreme poverty, substance use, or mental health concerns.

  • HOPE Atlanta – Provides 1:1 assistance with people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

LEGAL SERVICES SUPPORT

Free or low-cost legal help with housing and other civil legal issues:

Organizations that provide food, behavioral health, senior support, and community resources:

  • United Way of Greater Atlanta – Connects residents to a wide range of resources, including food, housing, financial stability, and education programs.

  • Chris180 – Works to improve our community by providing children, adults, and families with high-quality, trauma-informed behavioral health services and support systems.
