There are many organizations throughout the city that provide services and assistance to City of Atlanta residents. Our office has compiled a list of a few resources:
HOMEOWNERSHIP SUPPORT
Programs that help homeowners with repairs, renovations, or down payment assistance and legal support:

Invest Atlanta – Offers eligible homebuyers' multiple different options for downpayment assistance.

Atlanta Heritage Program – Provides deferred, forgivable loans for owner-occupied home repairs citywide.

House Proud Atlanta – Provides free home repairs for low-income seniors, veterans, and disabled homeowners.

Grandmama’s House – Educates, informs, and advocates for seniors living in Atlanta about governmental and philanthropic home repair programs.

Housing Justice League / Tenant Hotline – Provides eviction defense and tenant rights support.

Housing Court Assistance Center (HCAC) – Volunteers give guidance on how to file your eviction response.
RENT & UTILITY SUPPORT

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) – Provides federally funded assistance in managing costs associated with home energy bills, energy crises, and weatherization and energy-related minor home repair.

Lifeline Support – Federal program that lowers the monthly cost of phone and internet service for qualifying households.

Care and Conserve - The City offers financial assistance to low to moderate income ratepayers who are having difficulty paying water and sewer bills.
HOUSING SUPPORT
Programs and organizations that help people in crisis connect to housing stability and support:

Intown Collaborative Ministries – Provides housing assistance, food, and services to families and individuals regaining stability.

Feet of Clay – Supports survivors of domestic violence in finding housing and rebuilding their lives.

Policing Alternatives & Diversion (PAD) – Works to reduce arrest and incarceration of people experiencing extreme poverty, substance use, or mental health concerns.

HOPE Atlanta – Provides 1:1 assistance with people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
LEGAL SERVICES SUPPORT
Free or low-cost legal help with housing and other civil legal issues:

Atlanta Legal Aid Society (ALAS) – Legal aid to help people to maintain the homes they have, to increase access to affordable housing and to improve conditions in which people live.

Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF) – Connects low-income Atlantans to free legal help, including representation in housing law cases.

The Bail Project – Provides bail assistance and pretrial support to income-eligible people who cannot afford bond.

Georgia Legal Services Program - Provides free civil legal help to Georgians.

Atlanta City Councilmembers: Atlanta residents are represented by city council district representatives and at-large members. You can find your representatives on the website here.
